Home again

We are home again, all to the four corners of the UK. We left Lucy worried about getting home because she came by aeroplane and faced a long 17.5 hour bus ride back home to Scotland.

Ah, we have heard she has managed to get trains instead of the bus

The German and Swediish contingents had to spend time phoning ferries to try to go the only way home, over land and over sea.

Since arriving home, after a very welcome nights sleep, we have already contacted the rest of the group who have all stated that they all enjoyed the long weekend.

Only a few years we had our convention in Liverpool and found that our large BTS group had been multi-booked with a Gypsy wedding, an amateur boxing evening and, I think, a football team and their supporters. Oh, the noise !!

In contrast, we were a small group staying at the Southampton Park Hotel who were well fed, slept well and received excellent attention. Also, for quite a few years we have used Radio Taxis 023806666 and they continue to be there when we want them and give us special service.

I have been interested in the Titanic since I were a lad and have attended many conventions over the years. This year for the very first time, my wife came with me. I am still recovering from major surgery so Carole volunteered to be my "driver" to and from Southampton and Reading, so I could attend the annual event. After four days where everything was Titanic orientated I was pleasantly surprised to see that Carole had enjoyed not just the break but also meeting all the people from many countries who have become my friends over the years. I thank them all for making Carole welcome.

For next year we are planning to visit Belfast before our annual Southampton Commemoration
